On Thursday, August 21, 2025, members of the Union of Journalists in Lebanon received the first batch of international press cards sent by the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ). The members had applied for the cards following the Union’s accession to the IFJ as an associate member.
The International Press Card is recognized worldwide and is the only card recognized by national unions of journalists in more than 146 countries worldwide.
The Union of Journalists in Lebanon’s application to join the IFJ as an associate member was accepted last June, in international recognition of its role and standing alongside journalists in Lebanon.
